Our Program

English Early Childhood Education in a Warm Learning Environment

At Happy Toddlers, children develop their learning skills in a fun, stimulating, and safe environment, using English as the main language of interaction. Our approach supports curiosity, independence, and joyful learning through play and guided activities. 

Small Groups and Learning Spaces

Our play and learning areas are organised into small interaction spaces, allowing children to:

• explore independently,

• learn in small groups,

• and receive close support from familiar educators.

This structure helps children feel secure and confident while developing social and learning skills.

Age-Appropriate Learning and Preschool Preparation

The three younger groups follow age-appropriate curricular activities, designed to gently prepare children for entry into the preschool group.

We also offer preschool (esiopetus) for children moving on to:

• Finnish primary schools

• Bilingual (Finnish–English) primary schools

• English-language primary schools

Preschool teaching is delivered approximately 80% in English and 20% in Finnish, supporting a smooth transition to different educational paths.

Monthly Themes and the National Core Curriculum

Our educators use monthly themes to supplement the Finnish National Core Curriculum.
These themes are developed based on:

• children's interests,

• their everyday experiences,

• and their natural curiosity about the world.

This approach creates endless opportunities for diverse learning, creative thinking, and meaningful engagement.

Excursions and Enrichment Activities

We enjoy seasonal excursions and shared experiences, such as:

• ice skating,

• visits to local theatres,

• trips to Iso Vasikkasaari.

Traditionally, all groups also visit Korkeasaari Zoo once a year.

We collaborate with Musiikkihuone Huvina for music playschool lessons.
